Wire transfers and SWIFT bank transfers emerge as prevalent methods for both domestic and international transactions, with most of New Zealand’s banks interconnected through the SWIFT network, facilitating seamless cross-border payments.
New Zealanders are increasingly embracing online shopping, with annual spending on overseas merchants reaching approximately USD 2 billion, constituting around 33% of all online purchases. Popular destinations for online shopping among New Zealanders include Australia, accounting for 41% of overseas transactions, followed by China at 27%, and the USA at 11%.
